LAURA LOVES: Ojai

Usually, this post would come on a friday. But with everything going on I just got all the prep work done. This post is about a trip that Russ and I took a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our one year anniversary. We decided to go up to Ojai and have a relaxed weekend. On our anniversary, we started out the day with a massage, that Russell's parents gave us for Christmas. It was very relaxing and the perfect start into our little adventure.

The drive up to Ojai is beautiful. Once we passed Oxnard the freeway leads you right by the ocean and you get to take in the air and the breeze. After that it turns into a beautiful little drive through the 'mountains'. We enjoyed the ride up because we got to talk, take pictures and enjoy the beautiful weather, driving with the top down.

Once we arrived at our hotel, the Ojai Rancho Inn, we dropped of our overnight bag and burned the incense that we received at the check-in to clean the space. The Ojai Rancho Inn is a beautiful Inn, (Read my Yelp review, if you are interested in reading more). The room was very comfy and the décor was very special and unique. I love the art and the lamps in the room. And I am definitely thinking about adding a quilt like we had on our bed, to our bed at home.

After checking out the room we made our way into town.
We strolled around the main street and its little shops before heading to dinner at Azu. Azu was just wonderful. The service, the food, the atmosphere - everything was just right. After our dinner we went back to our hotel and enjoyed the quietness around us. Living in or around Los Angeles can get so busy, and I sometimes forget to appreciate the quiet and peaceful. The Ojai Rancho Inn has a cute backyard, with a pool, a fire pit and a wooden swing. I have always been a fan of wooden swings, so this was an especially nice treat for me.

The next day, Russ and I did some more exploring in and around Ojai. We went to Libby Park, Bart's Books and drove around the Orange fields. It was beautiful.

When it was time to head back, we packed up, left the cute little Inn and made our way back to reality. Once we left Ojai and drove into Ventura, we decided to make a short pit stop at the beach to enjoy the last minutes of sun and the perfect end to our trip.
