This week has been a week of new experiences. One of them I found on Kaelah's lovely blog honeybeeinthecity.blogspot.com. Kaelah has a wonderful blog and her latest post was about Stitch Fix. She got me so excited that I immediately signed up. Unfortunately, at the moment there is a waiting list. But while you are waiting you can fill in your personal style profile. But I'm jumping ahead here. First things first.
What is Stitch Fix?
Stitch Fix is your personal stylist.
How does it work?
All you need to do is sign up with your email address and fill out your style profile. Your style profile keeps track of all of your sizes and favorite styles, colors, materials, etc. You can also choose the price range for items you will receive. Stitch Fix categorizes into bottoms, tops, dresses, outerwear, jewelry and accessories and for each category you can determine how much you want to spend. I put in a price range of $50 - $100, I can always change it later, or for special occasions or special pieces.
Once you you filled everything in, you will get your first 'fix'. You will receive a box with 5 items in the mail. All they charge upfront is a $20 styling fee, that fee can be used towards your purchase if you decide to keep at least one of the items. If you keep all five pieces you get 25% off your entire order. Everything you do not want to keep, you put in a prepaid envelope and drop it into the nearest USPS blue box.
That's how it works. I believe it is definitely worth a try. I have heard of similar websites, sending out jewelry, beauty products or interior design items, but none of them spoke to me like Stitch Fix did.
What got me was the style profile. I was filling in all the questions and style options and they ask you about certain styles. The style below popped up and the combination in the middle pretty much resembles what I am wearing today, so I got even more excited.
I think that Stitch Fix will really help me to find some unique and lovely pieces for my wardrobe. Especially now, that spring is coming along, I am excited to see what they have to offer. I would love some cute spring dresses, bright tops and charming jewelry.
If you already tried it, let me know how you like it!
